The revolutionary new "system horse bedding" consists of 3 parts.

Decking material - made from extremely durable and slip-resistant polyester. Highly liquid permeable.
Drainage grid - with protective fleece for the quick and unobstructed horizontal drainage of liquids.
Softbag (optional) - these are filled with soft straw. Changing the bedding is only necessary when the surface is no longer soft enough. This takes between 1.5 and 3 years.
Due to the unique arrangement of the covering, immediate drainage of urine is possible.
It is even possible to clean on-site with water without dismantling the area. However, there should be a drain or slope present.
If no drainage is available, a shavings or straw edge should be established.

How Meadow Assembly
The WieWiese Soft&Dry is simply screwed to the ground every 25 cm with the special stainless steel screws.
Screws are included. Wall plugs are not included.
Alternative:
You can also assemble a wooden frame all around and screw the covering onto the wooden frame.
Advantage: Only the wooden frame needs to be secured and a few holes need to be drilled.
For smaller areas up to 5x5m, securing the wooden frame to the ground may not be necessary.
Ensure that the timbers are sufficiently strong, minimum 5x8cm. The edge must be finished (rounded).

Wir haben seit Jänner 2011 fünf Matten montiert. Die Montage ist eher einfach, doch alleine nicht durchführbar, da die Matten sehr schwer sind. Der erste Kontakt unserer Pferde mit der Matte war sehr unterschiedlich. Einige gingen sofort darauf und fühlten sich gleich wohl, die anderen traten darauf, schreckten zurück und brauchten einige Zeit bis sie auf die Matten stiegen und drauf blieben. Unsere Pferde haben Stollen, was ja mit Ihnen vereinbart, ein Versuch ist. Bis jetzt können wir nicht feststellen, das etwas kaputt sei. Unsere Pferde fühlen sich mittlerweile alles sehr wohl und wir konnten beobachten, dass sie morgens länger liegen als vorher ohne der Matten. Die Stallarbeit ist eine große Erleichterung und geht wesentlich schneller als vorher. Die Strohersparnis ist relativ groß. Alle drei Wochen ist es allerdings dringend erforderlich das Stroh (geschnitten) zu wechseln. Der einzige negative Punkt bei den Matten ist, das man wenn das Stroh zu wechseln ist zu zweit die Stallarbeit machen muss, da die Matten für einen alleine zu schwer sind. Ansonsten sind wir sehr zufrieden mit den Matten und haben uns bereits für die verbleibenden drei Boxen auch die Matten bestellt. Somit haben wir alle 8 Boxen dann mit Matten ausgestattet und können jetzt mit allen möglichen Beschlägen und Gewichtsklassen und Größen die Matten bis aufs letzte testen!

wir haben unsere WieWiese nun seit Anfang Dezember. Die Montage ging ganz einfach und wir haben die fünf Liegeflächen gleich in den Stall gelegt. Die Pferde haben sie nach ein, zwei Tagen voll angenommen. Am Anfang fürchteten Sie sich etwas von den weichen "Beulen", die da am Boden lagen. Ein Mutiger hat sich aber auch schon gleich daraufgestellt. Jetzt stehen sie alle am allerliebsten auf WieWiese und liegen und wälzen sich darauf. Wenn Besuch zu uns kommt und den Stall besichtigt, dann stehen selbst Menschen und Hunde am liebsten auf diesen weichen Flächen. Zusammen mit dem Biolit und den Sägespänen haben wir auch einen guten Geruch im Stall. Und das tollste ist, daß wir unseren Aufkehricht, also Sägespäne, Heu und Stroh, das lose im Heuboden liegt auch auf diese Art und Weise noch verwenden können: Wir stopfen es zusammen mit einer saugenden Schicht aus Sägespänen einfach unter die WieWiese Liegefläche als ganz besonders weiche Füllung. Und die Pferde finden diese kleinen Hügel einfach toll zum hinlegen. Also, eine runde Sache und prima Erfindung - und der Preis ist ebenfalls moderat. Können wir weiterempfehlen!"

Most important questions from our customers.
Doesn't the mat soak up urine and take on the smell of urine?
The majority of the urine flows through the WieWiese into the drainage below or to the edge of the mat into the bedding strip. The WieWiese does not allow any moisture or odour to pass through from below. There is virtually no residual moisture left on the WieWiese!
I imagine the cleaning to be quite elaborate?
Here, a simple sweeping is completely sufficient. However, by using a standard pressure washer, you can spray down the paddock once a year and really remove all bedding remnants within an hour. Afterwards, it will look like new! The paddock in my open stable has been in use for about 2 years and has never been cleaned, only swept. There are also no little creatures in it.
Would like to know if the horses don't slip on that?
Here, the exact opposite is the case. I know of no material that is more slip-resistant than the Wiewiese. Since the surface is screwed to the ground, it cannot slip. The top layer is absolutely tear-resistant and also suitable for driving on. However, when getting up and lying down, the material is much better than, for example, rubber mats, as the Wiewiese does not function like a brake lining but allows for 2-3 cm of movement. This enables the horse to get up and lie down comfortably.
My problem is that I cannot screw the flooring to the ground - clay soil! Is there still a way to use your mats?
Yes, that works. Either they make a wooden frame themselves using, for example, 5*8 timber, or they order the finished mat with a frame.
How high is the mat or the frame? Don't the horses trip over that?
The WieWiese Soft&Dry is only 12mm thick and tapers towards the edge. The soft bags are 5-10cm thick.
The mat with frame is only 25mm + Wiewiese Soft&Dry 12mm.
How large should the sleeping area be and
how big can I make this at most?
Horses with a height of 160cm - Mat size 2x2.8m or larger.
Horses 140-160 STM - Mat size 2x2.6m min.
Horses 120 - 140 STM - Mat size 2x2.4m min.
Horses under 120 STM - Mat size 2x2m min.
